House Insurance through Quidco

Hi,
I have been given the task of sorting out my Dad's house insurance and after going through all the quotes process have found the best deal for him to be with Lloyds TSB. RPoints are offering £40 cashback but as you savvy people on here will know Quidco are offering £120. I am wondering 2 things now. Firstly, never having dealt with Quidco before, how reliable at tracking are they (after doing usual cookie clearing etc etc)? Secondly, would they even allow cashback if it is in my dad's name and address and not mine (or is it just the click that counts). I am pretty sure through reading through the Rpoints forum that their members have been allowed cashback for family purchases so if I can't do it through Quidco I could do it through them. I could then make a manual claim through their highest cashback promise (so long as it tracks in the first place!) to get him the same £120.
Any advice much appreciated as I would like to do it for him in the next few days.
Thank you

Hi - I took out house insurance via quidco, but not with Lloyds, Barclays was cheaper for me and it tracked within days but hasn't paid out yet. Lloyds had a bad reputation with car insurance cashback (mine took 6 months) but I don't know if that was the same for home insurance, and I think things are better now.
And I did buildings and contents separately (a couple of days apart) and got two lots of cashback (yippee!!!) - or you could do this with two different companies if you wanted.
I don't know about the thing with the name - I took out breakdown cover for my husband and it has tracked. This may have been answered elsewhere on this site, there is a quidco thread somewhere.
    Hope this helps

Thanks Ali, have checked out the Quidco thread (once I found it!) and had some very useful information from there. It seems like I could order for my Dad through the site but it is easier (and fairer to Quidco) to open an account on his behalf and go down that route. Just cross my fingers that it tracks now as it's a bit different not getting £120 than writing off a few quid here and there.:undecided

I would deffo recommend opening up a separate Quidco account for your father, it's just less hassle if you need to submit an earnings enquiry. My father doesn't even have a PC (he's 77!) but I did it all for him and administer it myself. Result? He's being paid £60 to insure his home this year! £185 total charge, £125 back from Barclays (contents) and £120 back from LloydsTSB (buildings). LloydsTSB seems to be tracking fine nowadays, Barclays seems to need 7 days, so keep your eye on that one.

Surely they are not going to pay out morte than the cost of the policy are they ? I am shoping around for quotes at present but cant believe this would be the case.

Any one confirm this I agree barclays and Lloyds TSB show large cash back ammounts through quidco .

Whilst it seems to defy all logic, it has happened already many times. I think they are hoping that apathy takes over when it comes to renewal time.

    Edit:

    17 Nov 2006 Lloyds TSB Insurance 83.00 120.00 tracked* ~ Jan 2007
    17 Nov 2006 Barclays Home Insurance 101.00 125.00 tracked ~ Jan 2007

Am looking to do mine today - can I ask has anyone else got the buildings and contents seperately and been paid two lots of £125 - I assume as they are two policies this is ok?

Barclays is best for me on a combined Buildings & Contents - just off to have a look at what it works out to have them seperate.
