Quick question regarding consumer rights and refund

I paid for a hairdressing course over the phone 2 days ago it is booked for 2mrw. My little lad is poorly so im unable to go. Contacted the company and they say i need to spk to the manager who isnt there today and that they arent usually allowed to refund as its in the terms and conditions- ( i never recieved these) I said i woul be happy with a credit note if not. Anyway not heard back yet.

Ive contacted my credit card and they have put a claim in but will not find out if im eligable for a refund for a wk.
What do u think are the chances of me getting a refund? Just im wondering if i should just go along as i really dont want to loose the money but also dont want to leave my son.

Thanks

Why not agree that you can just start in the next batch? It's not the training company's fault if you're not able to start, and it's not like they can fill your place within 24hrs easily, so compromising and starting when you next get a course starting would be a fair deal for you both.
  • I'm curious as to the reason you've applied to your credit card for a refund?

I know people get money back where a product is faulty or if a transaction is fraudulent but I didn't think a change of mind was something they would cover.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
