Various places had the "jeremy beadle" similar set for sale the other year. Unfortunately the films are all crammed onto a few dvds, so you get like 4 or 5 films per dvd, so you cant really re-sell them.
Looking about there is a massive selection of sub-40quid dvd players out there, especially at places like amazon. Some even offer divx playback and are multiregion out of the box. So, it would certainly pay to shop around before forking out for this particular deal.0 -
What I'd like to know is:-
How long will we have to wait before a DVD recorder with DIVx becomes available at the £100-£150.00 price range?
Actually I can't say I've seen one at ANY price.
ANYONE??

Well don Rab C.
Might just order one of these.
Do they become redundant, though in 6-7 years when analogue stops transmission, would you know?

The Kiss DP-558 (https://www.kiss-technology.com) is a fantastic DVD recorder with DivX playback. Has a built in 80GB hard disk, an Ethernet connection to connect to Web/PC/network, it does timeshifting (pause live TV) and has excellent video & sound quality.
Bit pricey though at around £350.
