Welcome Finance settling all PPI claims from 2005 upto date

Hi hope someone can confirm this as true.
My mum got a letter today from Welcome Finance stating that they'd reached an agreement with the FSA to settle all PPI they'd charged from 2005 onwards.
My mum phoned me as the letter as addressed to my late father who passed away 3yrs ago. It took me months and months to sort out the financial mess he left behind. And thankfully despite his date of birth being different from what he'd told them, Welcome Finance paid out on two policies.
I phoned the number my mum gave me from the letter and spoke to a very nice lady who explained that they were repaying all PPI from all loan accounts taken out from 2005 upto date. My dad had had quite a few accounts with them over the years but she couldn't discuss this with me as I couldn't confirm my dads DOB that they had. I explained that Welcome Finance had paid out PPI upon his death but this wasn't something she could access.
My dads dodgy dealing were that bad that I had to go to Glasgow Sheriff court to have it all sorted.
She said to fill in the form; send copies of court paperwork I had as my dad used various Dates of birth (always changing the year).
Has anyone else heard about this?

Hi there
I've not heard of this news as yet, but that is good if they do this, there are lots on here who have dealings with this company and I'm sure they will post up in due course.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

FSA kicked Welcome Finance where the sun don't shine.
Paperwork i got states that scheme was declared as "at fault" and closed in March 2011.
Seems ALL PPI paid to Welcome Finance is to be repaid.
I completed the paperwork and sent it away yesterday - I'll update once I hear back from FSA Compensation scheme0 -
Sounds like a great result G51 just don't be jumping out to Braehead or Princes Square and spend it all in the one shop!!Thanks to all the competition posters.0
