Bought a notebook from tesco some months ago an acer and going to ring microsoft to see if they might give me a vista upgrade-probably wont but will have a try, anyone know the microsoft freephone number?

Think carefully before upgrading... most people I know that have tried it have gone back to XP. There will be a lot of bugs in it to start with until m$ release a service pack for it.0
