Natwest

Can anyone tell me if they have had any success in making a PPI claim against the Natwest?

I phoned today to ask where was my request to have copies of my account for the last 6yrs since I took out a loan in June '05? I had sent a letter with a £10 cheque requesting this on 08 Aug, I gave them 3 weeks to respond. I was informed that they haven't received anything, however they will see about sending me copies within 7 days. But the lad concerned, wasn't too sure if they (The Bank) would assist:(

I just wish I could remember how much I took the loan out for. I know I was paying £305 a month over 5yrs.

  • They have 40 days from receipt of the money to comply. You cannot shorten this because it is allowed under the Data Protection Act. 3 weeks is only 21 days and there would be, between 2 and 6 days allowed for when it was in the post (depending on when in the week you sent it and whether it was first or second class) so they will have at least 42 days from when you posted it.

Thanks fo.r the reply! When I phoned the Bank I'd have thought they would have told me that
  • I made a claim with RBS/Natwest on 10th May 2011 received a letter from them on friday dated 27th August 2011 offering me a redress of the PPI sold to me, I've returned my acceptance form the yesterday just waiting there 28days to pay the money in to my current account. I hope you get the information and are able to make a successful claim.

That assumes whoever you spoke to actually knew that. Big mistake.

Knowledge costs - (but if you think it is expensive you should try ignorance!)

Just got off the phone to the Bank. Finally found out that they did sell me PPI in June '05. I now have to wait for another dept to contact me. apparently I may be able to reclaim (?) even tho' they knew at the time I was selfemployed. I was not informed that I wouldn't be covered for sickness or illness, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it out.
I am now of the opinion that the £3017 they charged me should be reimbursed to me.

I received an offer from Natwest (RBS) for £3650 on saturday. But in the letter I never liked what was said. Therefore I phoned them on monday to be told, 'There is another letter on its way to you!'
I received the letter on tuesday, to be informed that they have upped their offer to £5500.
I haven't got a clue as to why they upped the offer, but I have accepted it anyway
