Hmm, is it credit checking, or reference checking?
I do know that some employers want to know about CCJ's if you're dealing with money, because if you have a CCJ they think you may be likely to (or try to) defraud because you haven't handled money very well in the past (according to them).
In such employment none declaration is often an "instant dismissal" offence.
I don't know why a sales advisor of a mobile phone company would have this complication (what monetary loss to the business would possibly be at risk? You wouldn't put your own bank details in to pay a mobile bill of one of the customers!).
The bottom line is you may have to declare your CCJ, but check your employment offer, and your contract before getting stressed about it.0 -
If it didn't mention a credit check, why are you worrying so much?? It sounds like they will check references, nothing more.0

Mobile phone industry is like the security industry where they ask for credit checks to see if you are likely to be tempted by bribery for fraud.0

Can I just say that you have an excellent attitude to your debts, and it's good to see! I hope the CCJ doesn't affect your offer of employment! :beer:0 -
Can you not call them to clarify what they are actually checking? You could be worrying yourself silly over nothing. I'm sure you're not the first person to apply for a position with them with a CCJ.0

Just wait and see what happens. Don't ask them as it will look odd and they'll get suspicious. Just be patient.0
