OH wants a granite sink, I want SS, but he's getting his way
Most likely kitchen supplier uses Carron Phoenix sinks, we originally wanted a 1.5 bowl, but I have decided a large single bowl would be good. Its to be undermounted. We like this one
First of all-I've never heard of them-are they good? They seem reputable enough
Secondly-what are these sinks actually like? We would probably go with a creamy coloured one (kitchen is going to be cream painted wood, with browny granite (or maybe quartz/silestone) tops)
Are they easy to clean? Do they stain?
Lastly-I'm confused by the "revolution waste and overflow" is that a pop-up waste ie connected to the tap? I don't like them!
Would love to hear anyones experiencess with these sinks..

We had an Astracast granite sink for the last three years in our old house. They're lovely. Ours was black, doesn't show the dirt and was easy to clean. We were constantly decorating and it never marked.
Make sure the one you buy is smooth. We put a Carron Phoenix into a project and it was rough - it did stain because the stain couldn't escape the grain iyswim - like the fake plastic leather trim in cars, once it's marked, you can't seem to remove it.
First thing H did in this house was put paint cleaning brushes in the SS undermount here and ruined it.
If the sink co-ordinates with the kitchen then I think granite really adds something.
The revolutionary thing is just a gimmick that is supposed to justify an extra cost for that product in your head. Ours was half price from one of the DIY sheds because it was a rejected order - the drainer was the wrong side for them. Not for me!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hi hotcookie101,
I can tell you Carron Phoenix sinks are excellent quality, especially their granite range. To set your mind at ease they are scratch and scorch resistant, don't stain and are easy to clean. The 2011 models, including the Fiji 100 are treated with Sanitized silver ions embedded into the Granite particles which prevent bacteria from building up. In all, the Sanitized treatment reduces bacteria and microbe growth by 99%. To further put your mind at ease, the sink comes with a lifetime guarantee.
The "revolution waste and overflow" is not connected to the tap. It simply locks by pushing down on the metal plate above the waste filter to stop water escaping and pushing it down again, it unlocks and the water can flow down the drain while the food stuffs are caught in the filter.0
