You may be eligible for sky broadband which the lowest package is free. It may be worth asking so you can save on your broadband costs. Also if you have evening available, perhaps even in your little village there may be people wanting an experienced babysitter which you could ask around. Local toddler groups might let you put a note on the wall.
  • If I were you I would break my neck to avoid the DMP. in 1-2 years when things are better and you have reduced your debt, you will be able to get cheap 0% cc again and will be able to remortgage at a good APR%.

OK, I agree in some ways but our debt is getting bigger as we miss payments? I haev applie for a job today though....

Becarefull though, just doing you basic wage takes you up to £15,000. Added on the overtime and you may be looking at having to payback any WFTC due to the overtime.

Maybe the solution is right here.

You are obviosulty in a spot. Have you totted up all the charges from bouncing your accounts and started claiming them back.

this should wipe off a fair amount of debt, as every single charge for late payment and bounced cheques / dds and going overlimit can be claimed back, from the last 6 years.

    Did you know this?

Well we reclaimed charges from one of our banks but we had to sign and agree to charges in future. I didn't know I could reclaim charges from Kays or whatever?
  • try to avoid the dmp. Ring kays and see what you can do to renegotiate. 5 months goes by quickly and TRUST ME you will manage and come out of this better off!

OK - I will ask my husband to ring kays as that is in his name.

I work for https://www.sitters.co.uk but don't get much living rurally - most people round here have relations who look after the kids - but I will try putting a note in the shop next door I think :)

My husband was told he could work up to £2000 more on our WFTC calculations?

Yes for WFTC but they reduce the CTC as soon as you go over £15,000.
  • He earns over £15 000 anyway :)
