CRB times

So has anyone got any experience on how long CRB's usually take to complete?

I've had a few in the past. Last year it took a few months (my current one then was 8-ish months old), then this year it only took 2 weeks (current one being 6-7 months old). I have a new job which requires a new CRB I hope I'm not waiting too long.

I gave mine to the HR department on a Friday. Checked the CRB website on the next Tuesday to check that they'd sent it in and it already said it had been sent back to me. I received it on the Thursday. Employer received their copy after me.

I had two addresses. They are trying to do them more quickly now in general so it shouldn't take weeks or months.
  • it depends which CRB, they were listed somewhere but i can't remember which site. The enhanced take something like 6 - 8 weeks where standard are faster.

    Mine was an enhanced CRB.

Keep the reference number on the form and you can track it here.

Well the paperwork came through today and it's an enhanced check. An information sheet which they sent with it says: Enchanced CRB checks - 90"% in 28 days.

Just be sure to write the reference number down to keep and then you check its progress.
  • Just had an enhanced CRB - took the paperwork in on the Thursday before the bank holiday, had the CRB letter on the Tuesday after the bank holiday! Only one address though.
