    Hey Yell25,

I've been looking around and although the price of the DVD on the site you have mentioned has gone slightly up it's still the cheapest that i can find. Has anyone else been able to find a competitive price? Or shall i order from the following link:

I see they have some other interesting items too, any advice on books or other DVd's would be much appreciated.

For comparing DVD prices I find FIND-DVD.co.uk really good,
seem to compare lots of sources.

In the Guardian (Ok I'm waiting for the backlash... don't shout too loud or hurt me too much  ) this morning it said that Al Gore's energy cpmes from more sustainable sources- from wind, solar, methane etc. Plus he offsets a lot of his carbon consumption (I know, that is far from a perfect scheme...) I think this is the link...

    http://environment.guardian.co.uk/energy/story/0,,2022934,00.html

Anyway, just good to see a bit more of the picture!

At the end of the day we're mostly quite fortunate (sorry I'm making a huge assumption here about MSE-ers) in that we don't bear the brunt of climate chaos here. I guess it's people living on the margins (cf the communities who are still homeless in New Orleans, coastal areas of Bangladesh, parts of Indonesia hit by floodingetc etc) who see the real impact of the changes.

Surely we have to take responsibility for the impact our lifestyle is having on the wider world? And at the end of the day, even if it doesn't affect the climate in my lifetime, I think trying to live a little more simply, sustainably and efficiently has to be a good thing!

    Rosh12,
    Agree with the above.

However wouldn't it be nice if the leading 'Guru' of the environmental movement(and the subject of this thread) set an example.

Also not undertake so many trips in a Gulfstream private jet.

Whatever the validity(or not) of his campaign, he is just a politician who has cynically jumped on the 'Green' bandwaggon to further his political aims.

Agree with you... especially about the flying!

But being the eternal optimist that I am (?!) I am still grateful for the impact that Al Gore has had in the US and beyond with his tour and films... even if it is a bandwagon thing, although allegedly (unless I'm just buying into his greenwash!) it's an issue he's been involved in for years, event hough admittedly it was never something he was very vocal about...!
