'Scottishpower' phishing

Over the past week I've received 2 emails purporting to be from ScottishPower, the first claiming that I'd 'switched' to them and suggesting I log on to my personal account page. Needless to say as I have had no dealings with them whatsoever I was very wary and didn't 'swallow the bait' just ignored it.
Then got the second 'follow-up' message 'We notice you haven't accessed your personalised website yet.' - treated it same way.
Just concerned that someone more vulnerable may be caught by this so I'm posting it here. Is there anyone that these scams can be reported to to put an end to them?
The emails look like this (I've asterisked any personal data and had to remove the links to allow posting on here):-

That actually could be genuine.
I would call them and check (Using a telephone number on their website not the one on the email). Maybe you or your partner have switched, or maybe its a mistake or a fraud by one of their salesman.
The quality of the grammar in that email is of a level beyond 99% of phishers.0 -
What is the URL that is linked on the email and is it actually the correct one, not a redirect or a fake phishing one ?
It may well be legit, some numpty might have used your email address instead of theirs - I get various emails every week from morons unable to remember what email address they have.0 -
The links all go to pages beginning scottishpower dot fb dot eclipse dot addemar dot com doesn't seem likely to be the real SP site!; and the promised 'welcome pack' never appeared. Neither of us has switched to ScottishPower or for that matter any other supplier.
Just as an aside I've also had calls purporting to be B Gas with 'special offers' who don't seem to like it when I tell them that I don't sign up to anything over the phone unless or until I've seen the details/T&Cs in writing, needless to say nothing ever appears!0 -
I had one of these over the weekend - the url's do look a bit dodgy and having not signed up I was very suspicious. I have just been on the online chat via their official website and they found an application made a few days ago with my email address and my real postal address too so somebody has signed me up! They have cancelled the application but couldnt tell me any more about where the application came from.0

FWIW the phone number on the email IS correct for SP.
http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php and search for Scottish Power.0 -
Was going to say the OP's looks authentic til I realised the date of the post0
-
Good spot - I hadn't even looked. :eek:0
-
Why not talk to your existing supplier? See if they can shed any light on this?0
-
not sure what the date has to do with it? It was a valid concern a couple of years ago and still is today when you see these kinds of URL's in emails. I could have created a new post on this but thought adding it to an existing post (albeit quite an old one!) might help people realise it wasn't a one off and to not just ignore what looks to be a phishing email.0
