Cheap holiday for family of 6

We're a family of 6 looking to book up our holiday for next year but are clueless as to where to go. This year we've pushed the boat out and are off to Disneyland Paris for a week in October but the more I'm reading about prices the more I'm dreading it so for next year I'd like somewhere cheap.
We're hoping for all inclusive as that would take the pressure right off but as this year will be our first year out the country I don't know where to start. Most searches need you to put a destination in and really I'd go anywhere but I don't know where to search as I don't know where's cheap.
In case it makes a big difference we're flying from Glasgow and kids will be 8,6,5 and 2. Also we're completely tied in to school holidays which just inflates the prices.
Any suggestions/tips really appreciated?

Go at the start of the Scottish summer holidays and fly from either Newcastle/Manchester. Should get you it abit cheaper, as the school holidays haven't started in England then.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.

When do you want to go?

Do you want a beach holiday?

Can you fly from Newcastle, Leeds or Manchester, or would that be too much kerfuffle?

Execllent tip about going from Manchester at the start of the Scottish summer. Just checked a holiday and the difference is over £500. Amazing, thanks!

I'm able to fly from Manchester as there's a direct train from Glasgow but I'm not sure about anywhere else really as we're bound to have a lot of luggage. A beach holiday is really what we'd like.

We'd go either summer (end of June to mid August), April (first 2 weeks I think) or October (roughly the middle week in October) as thats when our schools are off.

I'd go for a holiday at the start of the scottish school summer holidays from an English airport, perhaps consider Liverpool, Ryanair fly from there to Girona and Reus, plenty of AI accommodation there.
