Oops sorry. I wasn't dissing those who do use vinegar, though it may have sounded that way. It was just that this poster was so clear about what she did and didn't want from her FC to the extent of re-washing otherwise clean clothes to get the scent that she wanted, that I was trying to give her some ideas about how she could still buy her FC but for less.

I must admit, Im a b*gger for FC myself. Not only for the smells but the softness too. I use lenor, but I only buy it when its on offer, and then I buy in bulk and stock up. If ever I run out and Lenor is not on offer, I but Tesco's own brand.

Occasionally I go on the website for the makers of Lenor - is it Proctor & Gamble, I think, not 100% sure. And often I apply for free samples, and get them sent to friends and family's addresses also , as I know they always give them too me!

I do like the vinegar idea, I might give that a whirl one day!

I did a trial for an exotic type of Lenor a couple of years back - the fragrance lasted for months - literally - as I found out when I dug out some bedding that hadn't been used in ages. Sadly for FC addicts they never marketed it, but I bet you would have got away with using the tiniest amount if you just wanted the fragrance.
After what tine said about the smell of vinegar I think I might just give it a go - I hate the smell too.
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I use the bog standard Tesco one for 33p. Would vinegar work out cheaper than this?
No vinegar works out more expensive and it's not as effective.

You would basically put vinegar in the section where you normally put fab con in :) Just imagine it's a very runny FC and treat it just like you would a FC and it should be fine :) If you don't add essential oils it won't smell of anything at all but it will be clean and soft, personally I'd add oils because I DO like it to smell nice :)

Unless you can buy it in 5 litre bottles cheaply then I reckon it is a lot more expensive than FC. I like the smell of FC too, but don't use it for towels when I remember.
