Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated as I know I'm only take small steps at the moment.

One thing I am interested in is HM coleslaw but how do you store it? And how long will it keep?

You only need take baby steps, lets face it, its not possible to change every aspect over night, and why would you want to anyway.

HM Coleslaw will keep for about a week in a plastic tub in the fridge. Just the same as it would if bought from the shop.

Thanks Linda, Sounds stupid but I wasn't sure becuase if I made it HM I wouldn't have a use by date to go by. Something I used to be a sucker for (i'd throw stuff away dead on the best before date!) but something that I think will have to change.
In the meantime I'm gonna keep looking and finding other things to make (I'm transferring the recipes I know I'll eat into a notebook).

Its not stupid at all, and I didn't mean it to sound that way  I'm carfull about use by dates as well, althought like you not quite as bad as I was, I just think its not worth the risk of horrendous-dosn't bear thinking about-nasties for the sake of the cost of one meal.

In this case your coleslaw, I'm sure will be woofed down far quicker than the time that a tub sits on the shelf for ;)
