Just for info: My scaffolding has now been removed, but on talking with the guys apparently they had placed the scaffolding onto another customers roof a week before me and he is still waiting. Poor bloke. I placed the rocket in the right places, obviously he didnt. He should read these forums.

  • Thanks for all the details Yutman. You had a difficult time, but now you're up and running !!

Keep us informed how it performs. I nearly went to TESCO but thought it better to go direct to a reputable solar company.

    Now... serious hardware hold-ups

The system has now been up for over a week and performed very well, for the first few days when the weather was nice. I got a peak output of 2700kW and generated 10Kwh in the 6 hours it was light. The system is rated at 3.33. I follow another person who has a very similar system to myself in size but is much more southern. http://www.malcolmknight.co.uk/solar/index.htm. what I have found is that in bright weather I have a slightly higher output 10% ish but when the light is low I exceed his figures greatly, upto 50% more which in the last few days has been very noticable. Im still waiting for my FIT. All the paper work was sent of week last monday, I have phoned NPower a few times and e-mailed them to check they have recieved the paperwork all I get is they are very busy (surprise there) and they will be sending out all there confirmation letters this friday (tomorrow). not much help so I have to wait until at least next monday to see if they have even got my form. 3 weeks. Hmmm. If they havent itll be a race and if they have then all is good. nothing like being in the dark.

    Hi

Although it's good to compare with other sites, I do it too, you need to take care and choose sites with similar orientation and in the same general area .... enem then there can be large variances ....

The current level of gloom it the south of the country first, the relative orientation could mean that one system could have an advantage in the morning or afternoon, depending on when the clouds form/clear, clouds could be a different thickness in different areas ..... all things which could make significant differences ....

Having said that, there's plenty of evidence that Sharp panels do tend to perform well against a number of others .... :)

Good to see that you're happy so far ....
