further story about Tesco. Having had a appointment cancelled once and my house covered in scaffolding they had set another apointment for thursday, I sent them a email last week to confirm this date and they said today wednesday. I sat in waiting and thought I had better phone to make sure. They said they will look into it and phone me back. after a while I got a call saying there roofer had phoned in sick (electrician last time) and they had to cancel. but can fit me in on friday. This is getting totally silly. DO NOT GO WITH TESCO. I wish I had never started this dealings with them. so this week they expected me to be in wednesday, thursday and friday. fortunetly im on holiday but its been totally spoiled since I have not been able to go anywhere and its still not over. If its not sorted this friday its going to get very nasty. I will be spending all of today making sure the rocket is set up the correct persons @@@@.0

oh dear, it sounds like you're having an awful time Yut_Man. Who is the sub-contractor in your case? From the stories on here it does seem to be very dependent on the quality of the sub-contractor.3.9kWp solar PV installed 21 Sept 2011, due S and 42° roof.
17,011kWh generated as at 30 September 2016 - system has now paid for itself. :beer:0 -
Subcontractor Enact. looks like its going to have to go down the legal route. Zeupater's comments helped give me direction.0

Actually Enact are the intermediary between Tesco and the sub-contractor. I found Enact themselves very helpful although not sure how much control they would actually have had over Paynes if there had been any issues.3.9kWp solar PV installed 21 Sept 2011, due S and 42° roof.

Sorry the subcontractor was, Bookmysurvey Ltd. When ever I have phoned them up I have found them to be very professiona. Tesco pass me down the line to enact they pass me to bookmysurveys rep. Unfortunetly what they say has been totally different from what they do. I cant believe that they are this bad. I only hope that if they turn up tomorrow that there system is no reflection on there service. In many way I hope they dont turn up, I get my deposit back and then deal with a more competent company. It feels like dealing with door to door salesmen.0

if it was me i would tell them to stick the panels up where the sun dosnt shine
and if they did turn up i would insert them up there for him ouch
then tell him to go on his merry way and get a local firm in
if they are like this now how do you thing you would go on getting them back if they went wrong0 -
I was on a mission to sort the matter out yesterday and I can now say the problem has 100% been with the subcontractor. I got a comforting message from the powers that be at enact stating they had sorted the problem out with bookmysurvey at management level. I have been reassured from a few different people now that it will happen tomorrow. Hmmm. My wife has over ideas. but my big concern is the after service. ill have to sleep on that one.0

hope everything goes ok but if i was you i would watch them like a hawk to make sure that they dont break any tiles/slates and just stick them back down.
if they break any make sure that they fit new ones
my installer fitted 12 new tiles that broke0 -

I hope that there's at least a shedload of Te5co points and/or a remote monitor on the table as compensation for poor service ... and a bunch of flowers for your wife courtesy of the installers would be a good idea too ....

Well the system is now up and running. It didnt go live until 3pm, the meter is already showing 3Kw so all is working as expected. The work was very tidy and the fitters very polite. I watched them like a hawk as suggested. no problems with the roofing tiles getting damaged. There will be enough tesco point to last me a good few years. No flowers though.
So all in all good job. Just a pity It took so long and got nasty before they stuck to there obligations.
Knowing my luck its time to start on the electric company for the fit registration (NPower). 6 weeks to get the fit registered. Hmm, haha well see.0
