Misleading Hotel Website

I have recently returned from a trip around europe with a friend, our first destination was Amsterdam - which turned into a nightmare.
A reservation was made via website worldby for the Tulip Inn (Zoetermeer Centre) on the date July 27th check out July 29th (Itinerary number 65536551).
We booked the hotel in the good faith that it was in Amsterdam, as stated on the website (we have a screen shot). Upon arrival in Amsterdam it was clear that the hotel is not in Amsterdam it was in fact an hour away. This meant we had to book two further hotels at great personal cost, (£250) in the city centre at short notice in high season, as we had commitments to fulfil in Amsterdam that we would have found impossible to honour from such a distance. As well as walking the city with our cases for 2hrs to find accomodation!!
I have requested a full refund as we feel we were mislead into booking the hotel by the website . It clearly states on thewebsite that the Tulip Inn is located Amsterdam when it isn’t. I have emailed all the addresses for the website, left it two weeks and stiull had no response and followed up with another email.
Any ideas on my next port of call please?

Not wanting to be majorly critical, but on the website, does it actually say " Tulip Inn (Zoetermeer Centre)" and if so why when you were on the Internet booking it, did you not type this in and look it up ? It took me 15 seconds to find out that Zoetermeer is a place near the Hague and not in Amsterdam.0

As above, I don't get this at all.
Are you saying you booked it via the website Worldby.com? I cannot see how you could possibly think that is in Amsterdam, it is stated very clearly where it is.
Sorry, but I think you must have confused yourself when searching.0 -
Also as above, it doesn't actually say Amsterdam - it says Zoetermeer Centre, which a quick google shows you it's a long way from the centre. It's the same in the UK - how many tourists fly to London Stansted, which is a good hour from London!? Or even London Oxford Airport now, which I believe is not even that close to Oxford!
You could try and argue that it's too far out to be classified as Amsterdam, and "Amsterdam" isn't even in the address. Did you pay by credit card?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I can appreciate what you are saying in Hindsight however the search function clearly stated Amsterdam.
And as for knowing that something called 'Zoetermeer centre' is not based in Amsterdam - without searching, which we did but only on Tulip inn for reviews - which IS in Amsterdam, there's no real way to know that the name mentioned refers to a place?0 -

London Oxford airport is just a few miles north of Oxford."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
