"It comes with a 22in widescreen monitor...Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed...Microsoft Office 2010 Starter...1TB (1,000GB) hard disk and an excellent AMD A3850 processor with 4GB of memory."
How many gigabyttes[sic] are there in a terabyte?
1,000 (source)
I have searched URL, computeractive & Vulcan. Apologies if I have missed anything. Two differing end dates given (on the comp page and on submission of details) - I have changed the title of the post to the earlier one and will edit on the 15th if required.

I think they have forgotten to update their submission page from this comp which ends on the 15th -
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3450133 - as the end date of the 29th is given twice in the competition text -Competition closing date: 29/09/2011PC Specialist Competition
Opening/closing date & time:
Competition opens on 1 September 2011 and closes on 29 September 11.55 p.m.0 -
Just received this email...
Dear Chrissy
Thank you for entering the Computeractive competition to win a computer from PC Specialist.
Unfortunately, a technical problem on our system caused the deletion of everybody's answer to the question. We want to reassure you that your personal details have NOT been compromised; we guarantee that all personal details have been kept safe.
In order to ensure the draw for the competition is fair to all those who entered, we need to ask you to submit your entry again.
As often noted in Computeractive, you should never click links in emails that ask you to fill out forms, so to re-enter the competition go to our website and click the 'Competitions' link in the main menu.
Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
We would far rather admit an error and ensure that all competition
entrants had a fair chance in the draw.
Kind regards
Tim Smith

It says they have lost just the answers, not your details.
The only possible scam I can see is to get you to disqualify yourself by entering a second time. A facebook user could post on http://www.facebook.com/computeractive?sk=wall and ask if the email is genuine.0 -

I realised this after postingthanks One-Eye
That was what I suspected though, some clever dickie thinking they could win by getting everyone to enter again, paranoid?? moi?? :rotfl:

That's really poor, you'd think a computer mag would know the correct answer is 1,024 and not 1,000! Any they go and lose people's data - really inspiring you to buy the mag!!!!0

The question does not specify whether they are refering to a terabyte of Processor/Virtual Storage or Disk Storage. (The comp text however refers to disk storage "It comes with a massive 1TB (1,000GB) hard disk")
Processor or Virtual Storage: 1024 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte
Disk Storage: 1000 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte

I contacted the magazine and they say the request for people to re enter is genuine, and the don't disqualify for more than one entry they just delete any extra entries. cheers xx0
