Problems accessing WD Mybook & Norton

Hi guys
Sorry if this has been posted before I did try a search and found nothing helpful!
Yesterday while transfering a file to the MyBook (world edition btw) the pc shut down with blue stop screen to protect my computer. The file was mid transfer at the time and the Norton smart firewall was turned off.
When I started back up Norton wouldn't work at all so I uninstalled and then re-downloaded. It now works but I cannot access the internet with the smart firewall on, I have tried uninstalling and re installing but still will not work.
I also cannot access the MyBook network drive whenever I try I get the message:
An error occurred while reconnecting Y: to
\\MyBookWorld\Public
Microsoft Windows Network: The network location cannot be reached.
For more information about network troubleshooting, see windows help.
The connection has not been restored.
I can access the drive through my PS3 and the only file that is corrupted is the one that was in mid transfer when it shut down. I have restarted the drive and re configured it. I was wondering if anyone new anything else I can do - the problem doesn't seem like the drive to me just the pc???
If anyone can help I would appreciate it, sorry post is so long
