I live in a 1 bed flat (albeit on my own) and my bills are approx. £200 per month. That includes Council Tax (with 25% single person discount), electric, gas, water, phone, internet, tv license.

Bearing in mind there will be 2 of you living there, I would budget for at least £250 per month, possibly more. You didn't say whether you are going to rent or buy - if it's the former, don't forget there's probably a service charge and ground rent to pay, which can be anything from £500 to 2/3k a year. If you're renting this will probably be the LLs responsibilty.

    Hope this helps!

My daughter owns a 2 bed flat which she shares. They pay per month in total.....
    Gas and electricity.......£50
    Phone line..................£11 (plus calls)
    Broadband..................£20
    TV licence..................£11
    Service charge............£40
    Contents insurance......£8
So a total of £140, making it £70 each plus phone calls.
As students they do not pay Council Tax, if they did then that would be another £170 (ouch!!) This includes water.
So that would be £155 each.

We live in a 1 bed flat in London and monthly bills are roughly (some paid quarterly or annually but have divided them up):

    Water: 17.00
    Gas: 28.00
    Electricity: 25.00
    Council tax (band C): 123.00
    Service charge: 100
    Ground rent: 8.50
    Total: 301.50

    There are two of us.

Obviously there is other stuff like phones and broadband if you want to have it but I think the above covers all the basics we pay.
