As an owner of my lovely Iphone 3GS (Birthday pressie) I feel it is utterly necessary to form a cosy little union of all Budget minded financially prudent (or would be as the case may be) folks on MSE.
This is to provide a base of Support for all of us who are being made to feel like extravagant spendthrifts who have NO regard for financial affairs with the attendant lie that the dreaded IPhone has NO budgetary utility whatsover.
We must counter the lie (jumps onto Platform) We must gather strength and defend our respective automonous identities against this onslaught against us.( If we are on Benefits then more countering as the Judges have set out a Prescribed Life style for us courtesy of Geordie Grieg ex Tatler Editor), We must be punished! our life on the dole is a result of our own laziness!!! We have no statistical odds to fight against, no embedded prejudices from CBI and right wing Employers, the World is ours!! We just have to get it and Pauline impressionist is gonna tell us how!!! Economic insecurity can be ours and the attackers of the Daily Heil can be abated by our financial sacrifice!!
So folks lets get our Debt Free Wannabe hats on and rejoice, celebrate and defend our status as DFW!!!:beer::beer::money::money:

I won't stand by and see recovering alcoholics and drug addicts get a hard time on these Boards eiether.
I live in what's known as Supported Housing chock to the eye balls with lovely problems, suicidal alcoholics, deaths of alcoholics (currently devoted to Celebrity Rehab USA on Really), mental health problems, attention seeking, problem offloading, negativity, schizophrenia etc etc.
Pardon me whilst I hide in my Middle Class Materialistic Hedonistic (and Budgetary Refuge).

And I have seen good and bad in both. the Bad, the negative I get the hell out of here cos I cannot or will not be dragged down. With the heavy pall of death, and abnormality that covers this place I get affected to the point I am getting life and survival affecting depressive symptoms.
The Good are at least folks I can relate to as human beings and get beyond the endless problems, unless I have to chuck em out as drunk deluded, but at least with the positive you can have some kind of relationship, friendly banter.
My *expensive* (predicted in an SOA) lifestyle runs counter to the mass of life destroying negativities in this place from Riverford organic veg to my beautiful beloved Iphone.
Budget wise my mum rules the roost as a woman of consummately good taste, fantastic budgetary skills, brilliant cooking, looking good, who shows that provided you limit yourself you have what the swearword you like. Something she has been trying to teach me. Don't buy food that week (live on Cupboards and Freezer) and buy that dress, that book/s, those apps and especially needed that plane/train etc fare!

I really hate to think people would be afraid to thank me for the above because
1) I am a happy contented owner of an IPhone
2) I sin because I am on Benefits.

I don't think MSE is best when subject to pervasive stereotypes and prescribed ways of living: each to their own provided you MSE it,not engage in a culture that suggests there is only ONE WAY to do it and a lots of suffering for poor people thrown in if Benefit status is found out.

Love my iPhone but you lost my interest after about 2 lines... where's the money saving bit? The iPhone has loads of apps for helping you with your money but you don't mention any of those It's more an "arms" topic really from what I can see... which will probably get largely overlooked on DFW...

Sorry if meaning not made clear, just making a bold statement how I believe IPhone Ownership isn't a hindrance to being a thoroughly thoroughbred MSE person!!
