I booked with a online Travel agent flying Ryanair(most a pity)
2 people (me and another)are flying to Faro 10TH sept for 10 days
return 20th Sept 2011
My receipt/itinerary states we have paid £80 total so far for checked
baggage which I think thats standard 15kg weight each of our cases only. 4 FLIGHTS £20 EACH £80 PAID
How can I UP this so we both can take 20kg per case (i do know we are also allowed 10kg hand luggage each) and how much will that extra 5kg cost each case cost please each ?(2 people returns trips)
Which is the best way to do this please?
Thanks very much

Sorry yanair should be RYANAIR (FAT FINGERS)0

Can't you just put the extra 5Kg in your pockets?, Do you really NEED it?0
-
If you log on to ryanair my bookings, i should imagine you will be able to do it there, but obviously it will cost more, do you really think you need that much luggage allowance? We travelled, 3 people for 10 days and only took one 15kg hold luggage, and three hand luggage, we bought a couple of bags on wheels of ebay, which where brilliant really light, and packed loads in them, cabin wheeled hand luggage easyjet, bmi baby,55x40x20 (260820958395)0

Long story but i do need 20kg but cannot get 5kg in my pockets.
I did go to RYANAIR site but i worked it out to be £80 per person each to take the extra 5kg,
surely i must have calculated wrong.
As i say we have already paid the tour operator £80 for 2 cases checked baggage.
Thanks0 -
£80 is the cost of adding a second bag - but that doesn't give you any additional allowance0

use large holdalls rather than suitcases, they're a lot lighter to start with so you can get more stuff in before you start hitting your weight limit.0

Can't you take it as cabin baggage?
"Strictly one item of cabin baggage per passenger (excluding infants) weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm is permitted. (handbag, briefcase, laptop, shop purchases, camera etc.) must be carried in your 1 permitted piece of cabin baggage."What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Hi
Have you booked your flights with a travel agent, and not direct with Ryanair? from what i have read and understood it costs an extra 10 euros per person, per flight, to book 20kg rather than the 15kg, so that should mean an extra 40euros not 80, if you have no joy trying to upgrade allowance online, could you phone Ryanair, if you booked direct, or speak to travel agent.0 -
Thanks very much Madelaine.
I booked the package holiday online but the flight they gave me was with Ryanair.
I dont mind paying extra 40 euros but i cannot see on their Bl***Y website where i can change
this standard 15kg to 20kg,any ideas please. (Is it when i check in online do you know ? )
As i have never used Ryanair before(and probably will never again)
I fly next Saturday so time is going by i could do with getting this out the way.

Have you been onto "Manage my Booking" on the Ryanair site?
Access it from here.
It gives various options, you can play around with and see if you can upgrade from there.
I had a look, but not sure whether it will let you upgrade tbh, just add-on.
The fees table is here. It looks as though 20kg would have cost £30 per bag, each way, although you need to confirm this for yourself! So £40 extra in total. Might it not be simpler and better value to add a second 15kg checked-in-bag, than upgrade 2 bags each way? If you can manage an extra bag, that is!
PS Don't write-off Ryanair just yet! If you know the "rules" and can play them at their own game, you can get some great travel bargains!0
