Made a big cauldron of soup last night (chicken) which will do me for lunch for the rest of the week.
I didn't go to basketball training last night (it's £5) because I'd spent £40 odd on a new video card (which arrived this morning, so the postage was good value) so I feel I ought to do some exercise this evening, but to be honest, I'll probably just !!!!!! about with the new video card (see what improvement it makes to my folk's PC).
I worked out all the phantom interest on my student loan last night as well. It means my current net worth figure is as accurate as it can be. The drop in interest rates in September from 3.2% to 2.4% will save me £50 in interest for this tax year. Which is nice.
I also calculated that I need to save roughly 50% of what I owe on my student loan to cancel out the interest, which should take me 2.5 years at £250 a month to secure. I don't have a debt-free-date because my student loan is not the same kind of debt as my other loan.
I suppose my debt free date would be July 2008 and my break-even-net-worth would be 2.5 years after that - sooner with higher contributions (although £250 is a minimum per month as I can max out my ISA)!Student Loan Company Ltd: 17,805 (2.8%) Overdraft: 500 (Interest free)
Savings: £5,100 - Target by end of 2008 £5,000+
Net Worth 1/7/06: -£32,698 -- Net Worth 25/8/08: -£13,350.0 -

I snowballed my bfs debts and showed him how it made sense and how it would clear debts faster with less interest paid (and he is still skeptical and thinks I dont know what I am talking about Grrrr!!!!!!!).
Working night shift this week so that is more money earned this week as I get paid time and a half after 11 pm! YayOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 086Proud to be dealing with my debts !Total Debt: Was £6368.84  now £945.36Sealed Pot Challenge 049 Aim £5000 -

The small thngs I've done include the comps and click throughs on Pigsback and Rpoints and posting an item which sold on Ebay yesterday.
But the MAJOR thing I did today is ......... (drum roll) didn't buy a new suit for work. I got as far as the queue for the till and did the MSE mantra - do I want it (yes), do I need it (not really), can I afford it (well just got a refund which would cover it but what about those debts?), can I get it cheaper (not really applicable). I put it back and actually felt good about it :j
Now I am going to count the refund money (which was more than I thought) on the Olympic challenge
I know that for some of you DFWs this would not be anything to celebrate as you act like this all the time but it is a major change of attitude for me. Since my LBM I have spent almost nothing on clothes (one new top for Christmas = £12 and a mac which I needed) but only by keeping away from clothes shops. So I conside this to be a real breakthrough and hope it lasts.0 -
I put somethings back in lidl I didnt need - only wanted
chased my solicitor about the flat sale
signed on for my JSA ( I dont sign off till I get a start date & contract for my new job)
Im exhusted now so winding it down for the day
by idly posting  Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
