Shuffle the camera close to the end of the box....if it touches the end of the box it sometimes wont scan if its an irregular end on the box and just waft it around till it beeps. Only problem occurs when the donkeys put the boxes in the cases wrong way round so the code is by the security (opaque) end.Hi French knickers
Cameras in my local are in big plastic glass boxes can't for life of ne scan the darned things, how didyou manage? Not that I need more cameras lol!
Some of the cameras I tried were placed with the barcodes facing the top of the box, so I couldnt scan them, what numpty thought that was a good idea, obviously not an MSE'rbut with the others I did what French Knickers did.... I moved it close to end of box then waved it around in every angle/direction possible, took a while with 12 cameras
none of which were reduced
lol!

Some store have scanners dotted around to price check an item!
I picked up a Olympus FE 310 today, sitting alone on an empty shelf, SEL said £49.97 but scanned at £10
Its the next model down from OP Olympus FE 330 and only 8mp but will do DS for xmas!
Again, much thanks OP :beer:0 -
i found the samsung camera in store but the label said £100 so should i have scanned it and checked?0

It never does any harm to double check a price. It very useful in times like this when items could be cheaper than they are advertised. Even more useful to check if something is scanning dearer than the advertised price :rotfl:0

just been to tesco huddersfield road oldham and got 2 of these in red http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5564527.htm?CMPID=GS001&_$ja=tsid:11527%7Ccc:%7Cprd:5564527%7Ccat:photography+%2F+camcorders+and+accessories+%2F+camcorders+%2F
and one of these http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/vivitar-dvr-850-memory-card-pocket-camcorder-yellow-07830265-pdt.html?srcid=867&xtor=AL-50&istCompanyId=9a35962d-802d-4e67-9721-0a3328ca1f02&istItemId=qwitmxw&istBid=t
for 10pound each, someone saw me price check them tho and everyone went abit crazy and just grabbed them all, the managers went mad and restricted it to one per customer, he let me have mine tho and took me to a seperate till to pay away from the crowds . He also got one of the guys on the electrical bit upstairs to walk round with me and check the price of every single camera for me to see if there was anymore bargins for me, there wasnt but 90% of them scanned around 20pound cheaper than the tag but no different ones for under 40pound0 -
Tescos seem to think some people just don't deserve the same pricing as folk in other areas.
I saw two other bargain sites, a Toshiba Freeview recorder, which Tescos had sold, in at least three stores for £129.97, marked down from £ 229.97.
Photos of shelf tickets were posted, confirming price and that the special price was valid until 21 Nov 11
I went into two local Tesco stores to buy a recorder. In one the same recorder was £299.99 (but scanned at £ 199.97). the other store had it marked down from £299.99 to £199.97.
Neither store would honour the price asked by the cheaper stores.
Am I wrong to be highly hacked off with being expected to pay over 50% more for the same item, simply because I live in a particular part of the country?
Is it because I's Sussex?
In the end I bought elsewhere for only slightly more than the lower price available to people living in certain parts of the country.
I contacted Tescos customer service and had a series of exchanges with them. The result? Nothing. People in some areas are still being discriminated against, on the basis of which stores they access.
Tescos sucks.

And this is why so many of us have so much fun hunting out DTDs. The Pyrex stuff is a good recent example. Where I live there are 2 Tescos within a few minutes of me. One store has the Pyrex on a high price SEL but scanning cheap. The other store doesn't carry it. No problem there. Travel a few miles up the road to our fair capital city and the closest Extra, the grey Pyrex was scanning at the high price but the white stuff was scanning cheap. Other stores had similar high/low price scanning issues. In fact, comparing my 2 local stores, the Denby mugs were scanning full price at £7.50 in one store yet a couple of miles down the road the same mugs were scanning at £1.75.
