Help with Santander overdrawn

Not sure where to post this sorry. I had a second bank account with then Abbey National. I must have gone overdrawn as I had a letter through for overdrawn balance (my own fault for not checking)

I contacted them having had to escalate to complaints (long story) and asked for the final figure needed to pay which I did there and then (In May).

I have received a letter today saying I owe them 200 pounds as account overdrawn even though the person I spoke to in May stated the account was now cleared.

I am going to contact them in writing but does anyone have any advice as to what I should say in the letter

  • If you've already ended up with the complaints department once but you're not satisfied with Santander's response, then try contacting their Stage 2 complaints team. You can find all the details on their website. Feel free to put it in writing, but phoning these guys first might help enormously! :)
