Sister has a personalised number plate which she wishes to sell. How can i find the value of it and best way of selling it.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

  • Some of these numbers, especially the irish type are worth very little in reality, unless sold to someone that the number has a signification to.They are really only used to disguise the age of a car,so if i were buying one i would look for the cheapest,i think she would be better off transfering it to her next car or trying to sell it herself, she could keep it for use on a vehicle at a later date but the transfer costs may make this an expensive option.

not a bad plate, the 344 can look like 944 so if you put it on ebay put porche in the title

i'd value it at up to a couple of grand but the places you ask will overestimate to get you on the books then you may (after months or years) get an offer of much less, if it ends up having 4 numbers its worth about 125 quid cos you can get em for £50 odd quid + fees from any irish car dealer/ scrappers/ plate traders

transfer is bout 80 quid i think, retention is another 40 a year i think, dvla will tell you

I'd say that was worth around £1000 - £1200. Just compare it with the others on the market.

I wouldn't put porsche in the ebay title as they are cracking down on keyword spamming. You can put it in the description though.
