Clearance Auctions at Comet

Not sure if this is new or been posted before, couldn't find it when I looked.

Anyway, Comet do auctions for New, Used, Returned, Boxed,
Ex-Display, Scratched and Refurbshed electrical equipment.

All products are clearance items and come with a full one year
guarantee. Or so the e-mail says ;)

I've not had a good look but it's at:

    Hi

I have bought a couple of things here. Not bad sometimes!!!

Prices tend to go too high I want at least 25% off if I am going to go down this route and I find it hard to get that....depends on many things like when easter is or is the cup final on at the same time ...you can then get good bargains.

The last thing I bought was a superb Bosch fridge with a dent in the side!!!!! The dent transpired to be .... the fridge had been dropped from a great height and the whole chassis was bent a good 2 inches off the ground on a back corner. The front plastic facing (covering the feet) was not for that model. The machine has a log at the back to stop it falling backwards.

The machine works fine but I feel I should have sent it back because in my opinion it was grossly misdescribed but you know how it is...old one was dead and buried needed it then not in a weeks time so kept it.

Will be much more wary the next time.

Would still deal but would be seeking a keener price and I suppose it is a bit of a lottery.

I bought an oven and hob from the clearance shop, both sold to me by the manager. The hob was sold as NEW, the oven was cosmetically damaged, just a tiny scratch on it.

The delivery had to be rescheduled 3 times (they never turned up). Then when the fitter came he said he couldnt fit the hob as certain parts were missing, so it wasnt new as stated! Just be careful what youre buying from them!

:Dhi all,i've bought 2 washing machines & fridge freezer from comet auctions, and they were great deals,no probs, and were all as described.i saved a good few £1's too.just getting the right time to bid is the secret,i won on auctions that finished on a weekday, lunchtime.as not a lot of bidders about at that time.also you still get same gaurantees as new sales.just remember that there is a delivery charge of £25 for large items when bidding. So i would recommend to use it,as with any other auction, just read all details about item all the way through.cheers.fae Glasgow. :D
:T It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. :T

From what I've seen, they USED to be good value but now too many people know about them. People also over-bid ALL the time - for obsolete model, returned, damaged stock they will bid more (when you allow for the inflated delivery charges) than they would pay for a new equivalent model in the shops.

I bought a washing machine from them and it was damaged more than described and had a missing control knob - so wouldn't work at all. All I got from them was a refund and collection after lots of inconvenience. Because they are clearance, they won't even supply the same model from their clearance stock - which they should. Not very impressed.
