If they are Countrywide I wouldnt waste my time trying to negiotiate them down, they have fixed rules on what the lowest fee they can offer is. In fact it would be easier for them to simply not take you on the market than to take you on at a lower fee as it will mean less grief from management.
Get some other EA's in that will tell you their price structure, hopefully they will be more attractive to you.
Also, your Housing Association should have a list of people that have applied for shared ownership properties and they should be able to contact them before you go on the market, some HA insist on doing this first.I am a Mortgage Adviser
