Money spent -
Wilkos £1.70 - washing up liquid 82p, birthday card for friend 50p, bubble wrap envelope to send friend's pressie in 38p
Topshop - £11 - Spent on make-up for said friends present. If I'd have been more organised I would have like'd to have of had a go at making something but I only remembered yesterday so no time for that!
Tesco - £2.51 - wanted a bottle of wine because I have the night off, but only got one night off so would have to finish the whole bottle in one night...that kind of drinking is not good for my bank balance or my weight so compromised and brought one of those little 187ml bottles instead (don't think I've ever brought one of these in my life!) - saved £3 and a lot of calories! Decided to put the £3 I would normally have spent on the bottle of wine towards my halifax credit card. I know it's a small amount but every little helps, right?
Also brought some apples that were reduced to 62p
Weight watchers points eaten - 0 so far!! Didn't wake up till late because of night shift last night and then forgot to eat before I went shopping!! Must make myself some tea and toast...
Activity done - none - but did have a walk around town to do shopping...does that count?!
Small things I've done today on the quest to becoming debt free:
1) spent less on friend's birthday card and pressie...yes I spent £11 on make up for her, but would normally spend more than that and then buy a stupidly over-expensive card costing £5 and over-expensive wrapping papper etc, so easily normally spend £20-25 on my friend's birthdays
2) Brought a small bottle of wine and saved £3 - will be making my first payment towards my debts with the money saved! woohoo! :j
3) Dinner tonight from the freezer
Looking forward to OH getting home later...he has not had a good weekend and will need cheering up...£8649.42/£38,314.52 paid - 22.57%0 -
Very tired this morning, was up early to get the flat tidied before grocery shopping is delivered. Didn't sleep well last night, but then that's the problem when you do night shifts, it messes with your sleep pattern. Plan is to get all my jobs done early this morning and then hopefully fit a nap in before work this evening.
Good news this morning is that I've weighed myself and I am a whole pound lighter this week :j ...not bad considering I have been a bit naughty this past week. Also OH informed me when he got home last night that someone wants to rent his flat form October to January...he'd posted it on a site for actors that do plays (not sure what site it is?!) and someone is renting it who's in a play over christmas....yay to the extra money coming in!! :j
All in all a good start to the day...long may it continue! I'm off to catch up on other people's dairy's now...I really find they help me to keep motivated.£8649.42/£38,314.52 paid - 22.57%0 -
Yay to weight loss and extra money coming in :T
Do pop into my diary if you like, it's my birthday and there's a party planned :beer:0 -

Thanks Flee and HovelLady....I really cannot believe how nice people are on here...everyone helps everyone else so much

Quick update on yesterday then:
05/09/11
Money spent -
Post Office - £5.90 - Posted the present for my friend...really annoyed about the cost of this! I thought I was paying for first class, but turns out he charged my special delivery grrrr will not be using that post office again!
Morrisons - £5.85 - Needed a new potato masher as mine has broken which took up the majority of this spend
Weight watchers points eaten - 29! yay! stuck to my points!!
Activity done - none - ran out of time if I wanted to fit a nap in before work
Small things I've done today on the quest to becoming debt free:
1) sticking to meal plan
Have slept ok but still feeling really really tired...I just can't seem to catch up! Got up at 3pm to leave enough time to cook a cottage pie before work (I know, I know...I'm a domestic goddess!) I will take a portion to work, I will leave a portion for OH when he gets in from work and should have a few potions to freeze too. Listening to a new song 'Jar of Hearts'...it's the first time I've heard it but I think I like it a lot!£8649.42/£38,314.52 paid - 22.57%0 -
Haven't updated for a few days due to being on nights...been really tired and sleeping all through the day. Last shift tonight then off for the weekend. Looking forward to spending some time with OH as I haven't seen him all week! He has gone for an interview today at work for a promotion - feeling very nervous for him. Not much to report due to working all the time but here's what's been happening:
Money spent -
06/09/11 - NSD
07/09/11 - NSD
08/09/11 - £6 on takeaway at work with the girls
09/09/11 - NSD
Happy with 3 NSD this week :j that's the advatage of doing nights, it's quite easy to not spend money!
Weight watchers points eaten -
06/09/11 - 28
07/09/11 - 28
08/09/11 - 35(due to chinese takeaway but still pointed everything
up and I can use my weeklies for the extra!)
09/09/11 - 0 so far....think I will manage to stick to the 29 daily allowance
Activity done - none - I've been so tired I've slept everyday and not had the energy to do any exercise. At least I walk to and from work
Small things I've done on the quest to becoming debt free:
1) 3 more NSD to add to the pot!
2) Got paid today for some shifts so that is £801 of the overdraft paid off :j
3) Been taking food to work from the cupboards (apart from the chinese takeaway of course!)£8649.42/£38,314.52 paid - 22.57%0 -
Money spent -
10/09/11 - £15.67 on wine and other treats
11/09/11 - £37.51 petrol, £38.50 weekly food shop
Weight watchers points eaten - Far too many to even count this weekend...need to get back on it tomorrow...don't think my weigh in will be good!
Activity done - none - oh dear, I'm not doing very well with this goal
Small things I've done on the quest to becoming debt free:
1) drove to the supermarket instead of getting it delivered
2) used a tesco voucher for 5p off petrol to fill up on petrol
3) under budget on weekly food shop, this should help to offset the petrol I brought today
This weekend has gone so quickly, but I guess I only finished nights yesterday morning. Don't feel like I've done very well this weekend...have spent loads today and have been terrible with my diet this weekend
need to re-focus for tomorrow...last week this week before I start my new job (nerves are starting to kick in big style!). £8649.42/£38,314.52 paid - 22.57%0 -
Money spent -
12/09/11 - £11.50 on lunch with the girls
13/09/11 - today will be my first NSD of the week I hope!
Weight watchers points eaten -
Weighed in yesterday and not lost any this week...need to be extra good this week...going to try not use my weeklies
12/09/11 - 30
13/09/11 - 12 so far...hoping to stick to my points today
Activity done - none - not been feeling too great
Small things I've done on the quest to becoming debt free:
1) having dinners from meal planner
2) have posted 7 books for sale today, 4 on ebay and 3 on amazon...the 3 on amazon will being in nearly £60 if they sell
Been feeling really crap today. Infact haven't felt right for the past 2 weeks, I feel exhausted everyday and don't feel like I'm sleeping well at all. Today is the worst day so far though...feel very depressed and I don't even know why
. I had to get up early to go to the doctors and then I came back and had to go to the management office for the flats where I live to ask a question...the guy in there was so rude to me and just totally made me feel like rubbish...I felt de-motivated then and went back to bed crying, had a sleep and wasted most of my day
Hope I snap out of it soon...start my new job next week and want to feeling positive before then. I'm going to be exhausted before I even start on Monday though as I'm doing 4 nights weds-sat so not even gonna have a whole day off before a full week on new job
and i didn't loose any weight last week
can't even have any chocolate or wine to pick me up

Hi rainbowneeks, found you!
Sorry to hear you were feeling a bit rubbish yesterday, hope you are feeling a bit better today.
You've got a lot going on at the moment, so don't try and do too much in one go. That's probably part of the reason that you are feeling a bit down.
Good luck with the new job on Monday, that should be very exciting and a nice relief I would imagine to not be working nights. If you are on nights up until then though, try and relax as much as you can.
Also, if you have to take a few days off from the diet, then so be it! Just get back to it next week as things start settling down a bit. Don't force yourself to do it if it is just going to stress you out.
Otherwise stick to the diet as much as you can, and allow yourself a small glass of wine and/or a bar of chocolate. In the grand scheme of things, a few extra points won't make too much difference, and just get back onto it as soon as you can. Or you can look for something to cheer you up that doesn't involve chocolate and wine - a nice relaxing bath, bit of pampering, funny dvd, a few chapters of a book or magazine - whatever makes you happy!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". HI Rainbowneeks,
Hope you don't mind I've subscribed to your diary. Loved the thread title how very true and a great way to look @ lifes up's and downs.
You've motivated me to start my own DFD, will add a few non-financial goals there to me thinks I can see this shows life's not just about money.
Good luck with your new job and your WW's hope you're having a better day today.
