Well I've been with the RAC for 9 years and have used them 3 times in that time - each time they did a good job, (broken clutch cable, split hose, electrical fault). The fastest they came out was 30 mins and the longest 90 mins.
One point about renewal, when you first join you get the introductory rate, (currently £28 internet), then the next year it goes up to around £62. All you need to do; (I do it every year) is to phone them up and tell them that their price is too dear and you can get it for £28. They will say that it's a one off introductory price, so then say "well if you can't match it, I'll cancel and join the AA, with their introductory price", this is the killer for them! They know you can do just that. They will then say something like, "well I'll see if I can match that price as a one off" - They ALWAYS do, I've done it EVERY year since I joined - winner. Stick to your guns though - don't let them fob you off with a 10% discount or such like.0 -
