ppi in a iva

hi i wonder if anyone could help im currently in a iva and barclays have just wrote to me to tell me im getting my ppi refunded of 4,200
but i know my barclays accounts are flagged as being in a iva will the money go straight to iva etc thanks

    As you are in an IVA, any large payments you receive may be classed as "windfalls" and taken into consideration. It's best to speak to your IVA supervisor for clarification and check the "windfall clause" in your IVA. I'm not sure whether Barclays would be able to use the money to repay their portion of the debt first before passing on any surplus to you.

    Whatever happens, the net result is you will owe less money - which is a win.
  • The money is often paid back into the amount owed on the IVA so you very rarely receive any type of refund, however it is helping your overall financial position... so it's worth a go!.... GOOD LUCK :D
