We have a porch with a leaking roof which needs renewing. The quotes we have received are vastly different. Any ideas on fair prices and what to look out for?

One said around £3000 although this was for renewing windows and other was about £700

£2300.00 is a big difference if its only the windows as an extra from the first quote of £700.00.

For £700.00 whats the breakdown of work / materials

I'm not sure as this was given to my sister verbally. We're not sure what we should be looking out for.

Well I think even £700.00 is a lot of money for a leak, unless its a complete change of roof, either tiles or flat roof and a re plaster and finish, if its anything less than that I would be very cautious !

And an extra £2300.00 just for windows, forget that one for a start !

The quote was for renewing the roof so it sounds reasonable so we've decided to go with the lower one.:T

I think that £700.00 is still a lot for a porch roof, does it have tiles on it ?
