Good afternoon everyone!
Is it possible to join this thread mid-month? Due to strange pay-structure at work my financial month starts on the 18th. I think this thread would really help me be aware of my grocery spending-I seem to be at a supermarket every other day at the moment!

Think I'm losing count again but spent£5 in Tesco yesterday £12.22 in Lidl today and £5.99 in Tesco today (used lots of vouchers and conditional spend coupons) Total £23.21 (sure I've spent some more will look for receipts later)Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them

£12 today in mr t, did shopping list and nearly stuck to it, bought ryvita cos i fancied crunch, and three cartons of custard as have made a vat of stewed apple and pear today and some crumble.
I explained to my daughter why i was buying a tablet jelly for 30p rather than the 67p ready to eat invidivual portion for her lunchbox. Then i looked at the custard and had the 50p tetra pack rather than a cheaper tin (value 22p), or buying the powder to make it. Now i'm wondering about custard. Can anyone advise me if the tesco value is ok? or has anyone worked out if powder is cheaper?
Challenge to myself now is to have a couple of nsd. To try to achevie this i have bought more bread and bananas than usual, as i'm usually back at the shop midweek toppping up on those.
Good luck everyone

hi, not sure if there is a specific time when the challenge finishes, as everyone starts there month on a different day depending on paydays etc. One of the forum helpers will come along and advise in a bit.

AGREEDwelcome :j
my month is just running from the 1st to the end as i am paid weekly and it makes no difference to me
Pot of spicy carrot soup on and got reduced pitta breads out of the freezer for dunking. Anyone know how much nine roll packs of Andrex are, boyf went to buy loo roll and silly me forgot to specify which ones and he came back with these and my heart went  but seeing as he did me a favour I didn't moan, plus full of a cold so TBH Andrex will be nice and soft on my snozz
Although technically he paid for them and we don't live together full time as yet, maybe I don't need to count them in my budget? *straw clutching*Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

I know i'm a little late but my month runs from 15th of each month so hope its ok to post? I've got a lot of money to save in the next few months so i'm hoping this will help!
I have no idea what i spend on food each month but I know its WAY too much! Always 'just popping to the shop' and come back with bags full of stuff!
So I'm setting myself a target of £150 for this month to run up until 14th Oct. So far I've spent £34.62 but i'm hoping i now have enough food for me and hubby for the rest of this week (except for bread/milk etc oh and baccy) lets see how it goes!
Also any no spend days i manage I will put £5 into savings accountMoney-Saving Challenge: total of £3000 needed by May next year  Total so far: £450
