Spent £18.76 in Mr Mozzies -nothing fancy just basics - need to use up whats in freezer so I can get ready for Christmas.
Did I hear/read correctly that its about 100 days to Christmas Day?
Anyway that's my excuse ,not the fact that there hardly any money in my purse this week for shopping!
Looks like next couple of weeks are going to be very inventive at mealtimes:oCrazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

A couple of bits and bobs again today from MrT. £20.03 and I have almost nothing to show for it! Not at all happy about that.
At least the fridge is full of corner yogurts which will keep the kids happy.Return and Restart August 2016

Spent 38p today in Mr T - really wanted to have processed peas with tea so went to the little local Mr T and just bought the one tin. I took my Honey shreddies vouchers with me but they didn't have them.
Got home and fell asleep in the chair (up half the night again with the puppies) and when I woke up found that the puppies had chewed through the electric cable to the TV, so I will have to go out and buy some insulating tape and try and fix it. I will go to the big Mr T and see if there are any honey shreddies there. I am too scared to try and get more than 2 in one go though.
I also have loads of Campbells soup vouchers but will use them at Sainsbobs as they give you 82p off your shopping and the soup is price marked 58p and Tescos only give you the 58p.
Got lamb chops out for the tea (off the 3 for £10 deal in Mr T) and although there were four chops in the pack they were REALLY thin and DD1 ate all of them!! DD2 was out and so I made a sausage casserole with a packet of the help for heroes BOGOF sausages and a jar of Homepride sausage casserole sauce. It was lovely and did me and her and there is enough left over for tomorrow! I don't usually use sauce jars etc. but this was so nice that I will look out for it on offer again.
I made the Millies cookies from the recipe thread last night, and sandwiched them together with a bit of buttercream with Milo stirred in - Kids wolfed them down - I made 12 and there are only 4 left and I haven't had any!!Jane

do you think this would work in the breadmaker with breadmaker yeast? if not i do have a loaf tin and normal yeast but i'd have to wait til next week because i won't have time tomorrow, and we hardly eat here at teh weekends so now good to me til then
Well the beauty of this recipe is that it isn't "real" bread and doesn't need yeast. It makes a batter type mixture and if you added yeast to make "proper" bread I fear the water quantities would be incorrect. Now I rather like this non yeast bread as it doesn't bloat you out like yeast products do.:j
What I suggest is that you simply add herbs to a standard bread recipe but it won't be "quick". It litteraly takes five minutes to prepare and an hour to cook so do try to squeeze it in. Truly it will take more time to do the breadmaker recipe and clean up the breadmaker!:D
I made a lovely curry today from the chicken thighs and "bits" off the chicken. The breasts are wrapped up in the fridge for tomorrow.I boiled up both carcasses on the stove while I was making the curry so used some of the stock in the curry and only one stock cube. I also used some tomato puree and a handful of oats-one of the best curries I have done and no cans of anything in it! More stock to freeze later tonight.
For desert I made a steamed pudding-same as my other recipe(on recipe index)but I used up a quarter of a jar of sweet mincemeat plus a few sultanas. The mincemeat needed using up-I want to reclaim some space in my cupboard. Used a packet custard for speed. NSD day today as I stayed in-it's the only way sometimes!
Also made naan bread in the breadmaker to go with it and used up some of the rice I had frozen from other days. I think dd is cooking cakes or something now so I had best keep away from the kitchen-too many cooks and all that!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Popped into local shops on Thursday, so another £10.17 spent. Have updated my total. Going shopping to aldi in a bit. I want to get the veg for 49p. Stocks are running a bit low but I'm plodding on trying to use stuff up.

Woops...spent £18.02 in Sainzers, not sure how:o and then £3.50 on a bottle of wine which we thoroughly deserved and needed yesterday after getting the wettest I've been except for being in a bath EVER and being this way for a 13 mile walk and an hour in the car home:D.
Oh dear we're teetering on the edge of not succeeding again this month if we're not careful. Will try to make it a NSD today. Had one on Wednesday!! Must get more for next week to stop us going over budget..still got 10 days to go:eek:Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD0 -
Just back from town and managed to stick more or less to the shopping list with a few substitutions for things that were on offer and spent £21.15 in Mr S and £1 on cheap toilet roll so a total of £22.15. Well under budget of £30, pleased with that.:T
I may need a bit of fruit later in the week but will just pop to the greengrocers if I run out.0 -
Got up early and went to sainsburgs, manged to spend £96 but after using various money off coupons and a £12 off £60 spend combined with a £11 off a £55 spend got it down to £65.38, i love the student checkout operators there, they will put through any amount of vouchers.0
