  • Oh Dear, just added up my totals and I am now on £208.36:eek:

This is not good. I did include a spend of £13.28 on some bits for a dinner at a friends so I am contemplating taking that off and putting it down as entertainment:o. Not sure yet, will see how close I get to my total towards the end of them month. I have another £6 of a £40 spend for Mr T's (anyone else think they are giving them out like nobodies business lately?). It's good till the 18th so might go and do one last top up shop with that then call it quits, although I know I will need fruit before the month is out so still undecided.

Oh well, weather is wild here but got Toad in the Hole for tea so looking forward to that already.

    Stay safe all x
    Just little old me!

Hi there, well I have to rethink my plan of fortnightly shopping as I am still spending too much money on top-ups and I've noticed extra bits leaping from the supermarket shelves and landing in my trolley.:o

The housing association are ripping out my kitchen on Wednesday and said it will take two weeks before I have my new kitchen in. I'm absolutely dreading all the mess and upheaval as well as trying to make dinners etc with no cooker. Never mind, it will all be worth it in the end I hope. I foresee a few takeaways in my future so goodness knows what that will do to my budget.

  • Spent another £6.54 in Tesco's at lunchtime, managed to get 22p pasta and special k bars but they had none of the 48 packs of whiskas, also got more froots and strawberries.

    Sausage and mash for tea.

My total has gone up a little as I'd forgotten to add in the kids ice-creams I got them while out on Saturday.
Yesterday and today are NSD for me which is great. I've found that by really mealplanning and shopping only once a week off a list, I've been having more NSD's and that's really the only way for me not to buy loads of tat!

Have made muffins with DD this pm for lunchboxes and just made up some jelly into little pots too. Dinner tonight was due to be omelettes but we ended up having roast chicken yesterday (we have roast on sundays through autumn/winter think it's time to start up regularly again) so have LO chicken. Might do chicken in tom sauce with some pasta as this is kids favourite so won't be any arguments there :D

Our dinners for the week -

-HM parmeasan breaded turkey steaks with new pots and veggies
-cod in woopsied hollandaise sauce (whichever night DH is not around for dinner as he isn't so keen on cod!)
-Ommelettes, HM pot wedges and salad (was meant to be today so will do later in week)
-Pork chops with new pots and some kind of HM apple sauce using apples from garden
-Toad in the hole HM frozen and ready to cook!
    -HM Bacon and mushroom pasta
-Brisket - think I may trial this for roast next weekend as have some in freezer but have never cooked it before

Also have chicken breasts and beef mince in the freezer but will probably be going shopping before using these as I have no oily fish left which I like us to have at least once a week - keeps the grey matter tiptop ;)
  • Hi everyone.

Yesterday ended up not being a NSD:o. I needed plain yoghurt and ended up spending about £20 ( lost receipt:o). Bought coffee, some fruit, beer & cider, butter, ground almonds and chocolate for baking.

on the plus side the Chicken Tikka masala was absolutely delicious last night and we have a lemon polenta cake and a batch of double chocolate cookies for the week.

Tonight is baked potatoes with cream cheese and smoked salmon ( a pack of the offcuts) as it's just me and OH for dinner. And a NSD today.

Tomorrow will have to top up with milk and toilet roll and then NSD the rest of the week as getting to the top end of our budget with still 2 weeks to go:eek:. don't think we'll make it, do you??!!!

Bang goes my NSD day as reaslied no bread left in the freezer for OH lunch tomorrow so will have to make an unscheduled trip to Asda if I can walk that far or Lidl if I can't - need bread and something to go in it! Could really do without this as not feeling so great today grrr. HM toad in the hole from the freezer for tea with tin of baked beans - and some hash browns for OH.

Need to menu plan this week and get into freezer and check whats left and get an online Tesco shop sorted out, any good offers that people have seen? I find the website difficult to use cause of concentration problems and sometimes miss out the good deals!
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!
