That remark probably fails the Disability Discrimination Act.
The Disability Discrimination Act doesn't outline things like that, it's main intention is to aid disputes between employees and employers when they are being treated unfairly in the workplace.
At the end of the day, certain disabilities do prevent people from being able to make decisions that non disbled people can make.
The DDA doesn't include provision for this. End of the day, greater society aren't going to have the services available to them restriced to ensure even the most handicapped of people don't have a problem.
I agree that some people shouldn't have access to certain services and agree with above poster and would go so far as to say that a test should be run to ensure the person is of sound judgement and mind.
If someone is incapable of driving, they aren't allowed a license. That isn't a breach of DDA. I don't see why the same rules can't be transposed to other things...?
And before anyone jumps in with "You can't make that decision, you've never been there" I can say that I have Aspergers Syndrome, a form of Autism - for which I had extensive cognitive therpay and through determination, effort, will, and positive mental attitude, now find it no burden whatsoever and in fact one heck of an asset.
You wouldn't know me from adam now but certainly I know what it's like to be mentally "handicapped" (not that its a handicap any more) and would have appreciated more barriers in the way of me taking out financial products during my developing years.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I'd heard that the Banking Code stated that the recieving bank had a duty to check it was going into right account. This meant that if name was added to transfer then this should be checked.

In the good old days of cheques, with payees names, and credit slips then yes a check would be made to ensure the right payee was receiving said funds.
It still happens today at my Bank. If I use a handwritten paying in slip they also double check the numbers.
In these days of direct BACS (internet) payment then providing you have quoted details within in set parameters for sort code/account number then your bank will put it into the system. For known accounts such as public utilities, credit card payments my bank will define and check these prior to accepting the instruction
When the recipient bank or the clearing interchange cannot apply it then they will send it back."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Well, I put in 72-50-10 instead of 72-50-06. Apparently, all 72-xx-xx are alliance and leicester, but 72-50-10 is not used.
So I;m about to phone A&L and see if they've got it somewhere.0 -

When did you send it?
Have you given it time to get back to you yet?
May not have got as far as "Santander" may have been rejected at the interchange."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
