Read before signing.
Don't sign and don't buy ...keep well clear of Mercedes Benz!0 -
MB servicing on new vehicles is 15,500 miles or annually whichever is first, but with a 24,000 limit you will only get two services if you do less than 24,000 in 2 years.
No - they will only service within 600 miles of the electronic in car Service indicator (Service Assyst). Even if you go at 2 years with 24,000 miles, then according to MB the service is not due on a mileage basis.
There is NO 2 year cover. It is FALSE.0 -
I am afraid Mercedes Benz Dealers are expert con artists. They work on the basis that if someone can afford one of their cars they will not worry about a bit of creative invoicing from the workshop. I had several run- ins with them while I was running both a C class and an A class.
For me the final straw was when I was negotiating to buy a new CL coupe. After going through the final invoice and turfing out all all the things they had slipped in that that I did not want like paintwork special polish and upholstery protection finish we finally came to putting petrol in the car. They wanted to charge me £85 to put some fuel in it , the car could not hold that much even if the tank was empty to start with and they brimmed it. At that point I told them to stuff it and headed down the road to their competitor. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -

The problem now is the way the territories have been carved up. 10+ years ago you had independent franchises, some of which had been operating as family concerns for 40+ years. You had real competition and real service - for example my Dad bought Mercs from the same salesman for over 25 years. Nowadays the salesmen are 20 something kids who change jobs at the drop of a hat.
Then a decade ago Merc cancelled a load of franchises or bought them up themselves. For example in Kent all Merc dealerships are operated by the same company if not Merc themselves. This means that it's pointless to go to another dealership in Kent because there is no competition and if the service department are useless in one branch they'll be useless in another. The man without a signature.0 -

No - this is coordinated and condoned by Mercedes Benz UK Limited as a National promotion above the dealerships.0 -

I hope you're paying MSE for your advertising space
Update: Mods were quick to remove the spam. Good!0 -
After much aggravation MB UK Ltd have agreed to "honour" the agreement.
This was only achieved by going beyond their unhelpful and arrogant customer services in Maastricht and eventually issuing their Legal Department with 7 day notice calling an Mercedes Benz "Extraordinary meeting" as per clause 10 a) of their T&C's. (Yes I can play the small print game as well!)
I also requested disclosure of number of vehicles sold with the "benefit" of the 2 year servicing deal and had subsequently been declined service, (ie was I the only one therefore a genuine mistake which should be rectified , or many in which case it is deliberate grossly misleading advertising which should be rectified). Strangely enough, they won't disclose...
They appear to have seen the light before taking them to court.
Buyer Beware !0 -
Glad you got it resolved - it's amazing how some companies don't/can't comprehend that repeat business is something worth pursuing, rather than peeving existing customers off to the extent that they buy another brand.0

Thanks for the update. The scam in the first place is shocking - just assuming Merc drivers are too thick/rich to care about the smallprint - utter contempt. I'll be sticking to my non-prestige marques!0
