To end or not to end ....?

Options
Hi all, I am currently selling a collection of 1990s power rangers on ebay. I put them on today at auction with a starting price of £0.99 and within 10 mins a bidder is asking me to end early and sell at £30 BIN.
I do think this is a reasonable price as they are from my OHs childhood and he doesn't need them anymore however there is a small voice in my head saying I should hold out.
I have looked at the bidder and they have a great feedback score however the items they are listing are mostly power ranger products therefore i'm thinking are they trying to get my items for really cheap. Arghhh so confused as what to do, any help would be greatly apprechiated!

Have you researched the market? As in you know vaguely what they are worth and what others have sold for recently?
The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!
  • I'm a real newbie when it comes to ebay. I have done a search however there are not many of what I am offering (I am selling quite a few). The original power ranger figures that I have seen have either BIN prices of £80 or starting prices of £60; this one had no bids and only 2hours left. So they are high in price but they don't seem to be selling. Not sure whether I could find out if there are any that sold recently, and what price they went for?

Read the feedback of sellers in this market. You will be able to see prices they have sold similar items for within past 90 days.

Completed listings of them, so you can take a look & see if any of yours have sold & for how much

Over 6,000 items in that completed items list! Have a look :D
  • It's a gamble - £30 now or, "open the box" ;)
  • If the person asking is a trader they'll be looking to resell, in that case it's likely two traders will push the price up to £30 anyway, what you need to hope for is two collectors falling over each other to get your items. Personally I'd decline and let the listing run.

  • I sold a bundles of power rangers figures the other week and made just under £30 so depending on whether you have a "rarer" figure than me the price for your might be more.. I always think if someone wants you to end auction early its generally worth hanging on and hope to get a good price.

If I felt it was a reasonable price going by completed listings I'd usually take it - a guaranteed price is worth more than gambling on it going up.

As people have said though, check and see what closing prices are.

Any bids on the auction yet? If not revise it and set the start price to £30.

Add a little note, 3 Dealers have contacted you and all offered the same price so must be worth more to someone.

Who knows you may get another better offer.
