Florida in spring or summer half term

Haven't been to florida before but if we don't go this year kids will be to old to enjoy the disney experience ,as it is the daughter will be 14 and my son 10/11.
We thought we would go for 14 days either during feb/mar(spring half term) or may/june(summer half term) - it depends on price and whether the weather would be good enough in spring?
Anyway I've looked initially at prices of flights and villas separately(in spring) and its looking like £2400 for flights and another £1000 for 2 weeks villa rental. However have just done a package search on virgin and git a price of £2580 for room only and flights at the Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista.
Was after some advice on whether these prices are good or could I possibly get the fights/villa cheaper anywhere and also what the hotal is like? Oh...I did use the MSE flgithchecker to get the flights prices
thanks in advance for help

You might find the queues for rides are shorter in Feb/March, and also the weather will not be as hot as in the summer, but should still be hot enough to go to waterparks etc, just not as humid as the summer (Ive been in Jan and temps were around 19-25C so by end of Feb should have warmed up more) . I would go then if I were choosing. I think the next time I go to Florida it will be around March time. Ive been in August too and that was unbearable.
have a look on tripadvisor for the hotel reviews. The orlando forum on there is very good too.0 -
We went in Feb a couple of years ago, as Claire said it was pleasant enough, maybe a bit cooler after dark. Would recommend heating the pool in a villa at that time of year. Broadway Travel have 3 bed villas with pool heat for under £700 for 2 weeks. Although the ones without the "free heating" are £80 cheaper!!
We have been in Feb, May, Aug and Oct. August was very humid, the rest ok, October and Feb were the quietest but the Oct trip was a month after 9/11, so probably not typical.0 -
Feb/march is good usually gets as hot as our summer. fairly quiet in the parks. I would like to try october now but havent got the cash and probably wont have for a few years. May not go back, which will be a shame."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0

If you have not been to Florida before and intend to go to the parks then you need to plan ahead. Buy a book such as "Unoffical guide to Walt Disney world" or similar. I have a short brits guide to Orlando on my website.
As far as airlines go there is a lack of competition on the Orlando direct route. We go to Orlando every year and we are fed up with the crappy aircraft Virgin uses. We have found it cheaper to fly to Maimi and drive the 200 miles to Orlando. This is not recommened for first timers though.
As a villa owner I would obviously recommend villa rental rather than hotels. If you go to a hotel you will have to eat out which with a family can clock up the money.Owner of a villa near Walt Disney World.0 -
If you are not tied to school holidays then January May,Early June, September, November and early December tend to be the cheapest months and also outside of US public holidays the parks are quieter. Weather wise May/June is good being hot but not humid as in July/August.Owner of a villa near Walt Disney World.0

Feb/March is much, much better. Any American will tell you this is a nice time of year. How people cope in the heat of the summer at Disney I do not know. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0
