Re-positioning of BT Exchange line

I'm having my guttering & fascia boards replaced but my overhead phone exchange line is attached to the fascia board and so will have to be moved. The company carrying out the work are not prepared to do this and say it will need to be done by BT.
My questions are :
Because I pay all my telephone bills including line rental to a company other than BT do I still have to get BT to move the equipment or is it the responsibility of the company that I pay for the service who have to do the moving?
Also is it necessary to get BT to do the job or can I get any telecom engineer to carry it out?
Many thanks for any advice that be given.

It's BT openreach that do all the work so you'll need to go thru your phone supplier to arrange the work to be done.0

This would be chargable work, and as already stated, you need to contact your (line rental) provider to get this arranged, this used to be an 'external shift' type order, but looks like its now part of the 'time related charges' process, the Openreach visit and first hour charge is £105 + vat, if done during normal weekday hours, but thats what OR charge the CP, what the CP charge you is up to them, the charge would appear on their bill, you have no way of being charged directly from OR,
Openreach are the only ones who should be doing this work0
