Make sure you wipe your hard disk before selling on your PC!

Yes, so the OP has to make a choice.

Spend lots of time downloading and using disc-clearing software for slight gain on selling price, or 5 mins to take drive out and sell PC for slightly less.

How much is your time worth?

    Lots of time?
CCleaner can be downloaded free of charge in about 20 seconds then add about 1 minute to install and set it up.
It can then be set to run whilst someone is having dinner or sleeping so the whole downloading, installing and operation is neither time consuming or difficult.

Why bother disassembling a computer when the same result (clean, securely wiped HDD) can be carried out easily and freely by the majority of computer users, and I disagree that the selling price of a PC with neither a HDD or installed OS will only be "slightly less" than an equivilent PC with both of these items supplied.

Respectfully disagree, I've managed to recover photos and documents from a hard disk that had been wiped and had the OS re-installed. It's amazing what can be done with a bit of time and some free software.

Respectfully, perhaps someone who does not even know what wipe free space on ccleaner does, should not be running a technology blog, nor does constantly spamming forums with links to your blog do anything to gain respect.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

So a blogger has to know everything about their genre in order to qualify?

I wouldn't call my inclusion of links on this forum constant either. I come on here when I get time to post replies to people in order to be helpful, and I've used other areas of the forum to seek advice myself. I see it as a fair trade off to be honest.
