want to switch providers and account holders at the same time
Hello
I want to switch my gas/elec to a cheaper provider, but at the same time also change the names on the bills. Currenly my dad's name is on the bills but i would like to transfer to my name. Can I simply tell the new providers my name, rather than the current holder? Will they require some signature from the old account holder? Does the new provider care?
Thanks in advance

It shouldn't be a problem, just agree a contract with the new provider, your Dad will remain responsible for the bills with the old supplier until the transfer has gone through, then you would become legally responsible for the bills.0
