My salary is only £25k but I have £30k of savings from past job and house sale which I use £3k to move into HBOS then replenish the £500 spent from my actual salary.

Well that's Double Dutch to me.

I don't think what HBOS think of your "behaviour" is all that important. An application stating £25k salary (and £500 non-credit outgoings) should be quite favourable. Note that "savings" and "earnings" are not recorded in credit files, therefore a potential problem might be that with inside knowledge of your account HBOS won't see your salary.

Either you want the HBOS Reward as your main current account or you just want the £5/month. If the latter, don't be surprised if HBOS don't look on your card application favourably. But I would still try if that is what you want.

do you mean it'll be viewed less favourably paying my salary in? My salary is only £25k but I have £30k of savings from past job and house sale which I use £3k to move into HBOS then replenish the £500 spent from my actual salary.

My savings are with Coventry not bos.

I'm confused with your post if you could please help. Thankyou.
If you spend all you pay in you won't be internally scored as highly as someone who has money left over at the end of the month (to either save with Halifax or BACS transfer out to another bank to save).
