mobile not recognising sim

Can anyone help,my samsung tocco lite is not recognising that my sim is inserted.I took out the sim to try in another phone .Now when i try to use my phone it says sos only insert sim to access network services.I am stumped.It is not a fault with the sim as it works in my hubby`s phone .can anyone help please?

So, your sim in another phone works but have you tried a different sim in your phone? If it doesn't recognise it then it's likely to be a problem with your phone. You can also try giving your sim a gentle clean with a soft cloth (or t-shirt!)Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

If the SIM was working before and is still working in a different phone then the only reason it's not working now that I can think of is that it isn't making proper contact.
First thing to check is that you've actually put it in the right way round and right way up. Assuming you have then it could be grease from your fingers on the SIM contacts - try rubbing them gently with a pencil eraser or maybe a clean cloth.0 -
Tried another sim and that`s not reading either I will try and clean the contacts .i might have put it in the wrong way ,would that have damaged the contacts maybe?0

Just cleaned the parts that are visible no luck0
