Just a little rant...

Options
Hi we had an offer accepted on June 2nd! Several problems along they way, chain broke etc.

Sellers want to move Friday we are hsppy with that too, have signed contracts but not exchanged so chased solicitor yesterday no reply. Replied this morning to say she would chase it. Emailed to check progress and received an out of office email until Friday!

So now we have no chance of completing on that day :(

  • Not necessarily so. Telephone their office; someone else should have been deputed to handle the holidaymaker's files.

I've rang and they passed it on but it didn't sound positive. They are going to ring me back. I wish the solicitor had just said in her email this morning that she was out of office from this afternoon! Not very professional when she knows we are stressing and desperate to move on Friday!

Unfortunately I've already paid her! That's one lesson learnt!
  • Wishing you happiness in your new home. :)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Ring again just before 1700hrs. today. If no-one is prepared to help you, insist that you wish to speak to the Senior Partner in order to make a complaint of Inadequate Professional Service [use that phrase]. If still no joy, ring again tomorrow at 0915hrs.

Good for you (but use the 'assertive' setting, not 'aggressive').
