Zip file help

I am trying to access a file from a teaching resource website. I download the zip file, but when I double click on it, all I get is a list of "stuff", e.g. 'buttons', 'filelist', 'frame', etc. I have tried using the "extract files" button, but nothing seems to help. All I want to do is use the resources.:( I have Windows Vista.

Can anyone help, please?

I have searched the forums for this, but only found mention on sewing threads or other things I didn't understand:o

Has it got a password?

Have you tried another programme?

Check it will be added to the right click context menu, then there is no need for a desktop icon

First take the 'Cache_files.zip' out of the main zip file, then extract the contents of cache_files.zip. Afterwards open frames.htm and it'll work.

If you're still struggling, I've turned it into a self extracting archive, i.e. you just run it, and it'll extract to whatever directory it's in.

Right click to save this to the desktop (or wherever you want to)
http://www.users.on.net/~russ/CACHE%20Child%20Care.exe

Then run it.

How do I take the CACHE zip files out of the main zip file:eek:?

Depends on what program you are using, but when you unzip the item_export_2011_Aug_31_5__anon.zip downloaded from the site - it would extract the contents which includes the cache_files.zip zip file.

Then you just have to unzip that as well basically! They've put a zip file in a zip file and no clear instructions.

Frames.html is what you need to run to view the resource correctly.

I've saved your link to the desktop, but when I then select "run", it wants to know where to extract the files from.

Sorry, I think I may just give up, as I don't want to waste any more of anyone's time, and I feel stupid.

It should just want to know where to extract them to You don't have to fill anything in, just press Extract.

Don't feel stupid, perhaps I'm just not explaining it well.
