MSE say EDF slashing fixed tariffs

According to MSE email yesterday (Martin's Money Tips):-

EDF & Scottish Power slash fixed costs | Likely short-term customer grab | Take advantage ASAP

But there's nothing on the EDF website about this and the two current tariffs, Fixed Saver Version 2 and Fixed Price 2014 are showing as unchanged.

Anybody know anything about this?

All i know is if you put your details into a price comparison site and select fixed only EDF and scottish power are the top 20 results for various length fixed deals. I'm looking at a 2 year fix at the moment saving me £145 with EDF and £120 with SP.

Its another misleading article from the MSE "News" team..

They havent "slashed" anything, EDF relaunched a fixed tariff (that hasnt changed in price as the term "Fix" would suggest) and Scottish power have launched a cheaper fixed deal than they had originally, still do a comparison to see whats best for you.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    Yes, very misleading !!

I signed up with EDF's Fixed Saver Version 2 in May this year, so I was a bit hacked off to see Martin's "Prices Slashed" article, fully expecting to see a new Fixed Saver Version 3 on the EDF website.

Just makes you wonder at the accuracy of other items on MSE.
