Recently moved into this rental place. We're not allowed to change supplier so I'm keeping close tabs on usage until I get a feel for what kind of bills we're going to be hit with.

I've just paid a small bill that was dated up to the 16th of this month and I submitted a reading online today, 2 weeks later, to see how much we'd used in a fortnight.

I got this message...

Thank you for letting us know your meter reading. We can't add it to your account at the moment. But don't worry, the reading has been sent to an expert advisor to take a look at. Your account will be updated and we'll be in touch if we need any further information

Why would it need an expert advisor to look at it?

It gives you confidence that you are in good hands;)

They are all experts, executives, representatives these days - the term 'clerk' has vanished!

Who knows? Maybe there is some anomaly (eg the reading you input got corrupted en route to them; the reading is unusually high etc), or it may be a standard message they put up because they have a delay in producing your bill.
