Offline games multiplayer for travels?

Hi all

Me and a group of friends are going on a trip to Thailand and we were thinking it be good if we can somehow play games offline and with each other whilst on our travel as we got some long journeys on our way.

We have iPads and iPhones only.

Anyone recommend any good offline games that we can play? What would be brilliant would be a poker, monopoly or scrabble game which we can together on our own devices and without requiring an Internet or wireless connection.

Thanks

This is a fun subject... I'm afraid that I don't have any knowlege of the iPhone/Pad, so this response isn't going to be useful for you. I'll bump the thread anyway, it might be useful for someone.

My friend and I take netbooks abroad with us for email/skype/emergenies/work/play - and we have a small selection of games that we play over an ad-hoc wifi network between the two machines (and occaisionally others who fancy joining in). Google them if you fancy - theyre all available cheaply, - and a couple have free re-makes :)

We have a few small "throwaway" games that are fun for 15-20 minutes, including:

    Atomic Bomberman
    You Don't Know Jack

Some strategy games, for longer periods of time:

    Civilization II
    Imperialism I and II
    Age of Empires II
    Populous III (Populous: The Beginning)

    A few "tycoon" style games:
    Theme Hospital
    Dungeon Keeper II
Transport Tycoon Deluxe (actually, the open source openTTD)
    Rollercoaster Tycoon II

For single player use, I also have
The Elder Scrolls III (Morrowind) - just about runs OK

Back in ye-olden days we used to have these things called 'board games' - they neither require an internet connection, nor even an electricity supply.

But to be serious, the Mrs and I travel with a cheap travel-compendium giving us cards and importantly backgammon. We've travelled the world with a £8.95 set from WH Smith and thoroughly enjoyed it :d

I'd have thought you could use an ipad between you for something like Monopoly - essentially like a very expensive version of a magnetic travel one (and bigger).
